Hero is a Man is an epic Sci-Fi novel that envisions our world in the not so distant future. We meet Halycon (Hal for short), a brilliant scientist and inventor who helps create something brilliant. It is really refreshing to see such a strong female lead. This genre often relies on tropes of women being saved by the most macho, bravest guy out there. Hal seems to have most things under control and acts in full autonomy. Misha, her love interest is also a really great character. His development is very interesting and his backstory is fabulously thought out. The author put a lot of research into technical and scientific detail to create some truly fantastic, Sci-Fi goodies to enjoy. The pacing is fast and the book starts throwing punches early on. I found this book extremely entertaining and thoughtful. It is well written with a clear tone. The BEST thing about this book is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously. The writer sticks to the plot and doesn’t put unnecessary weight on it (thank goodness!) Excellently written and told this a truly wonderful beginning to a promising series.

What lovely characters and an interesting story line
very original easy read very realistic characters did not take but about a few hours to read and hope there is another book
Liked everything about this story just wish they had more about the tattoos and the powers they get from them guess that's the next book
I really enjoyed this book by Nix Whittaker. Nix managers to creat a believable new world where good and bad fight for power. Nix kept me on the edge of my seat and I staid late into the night with this page turner to find out what happened. It has a good plot and I'm really looking forward the the next instalment in her new book. I can't wait to see what happens next.
This is a fabulous read. It is set in the future after the world as we know it has ended and humans are able to survive again with the help of living biodome type things. The characters are fleshed out and the application of tattooed glyphs enhance and improve them. I'm not done with the story but felt the need to rave about it.
Fantastic book, I loved the characters, the story, and world building. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of sci-fi and or dystopian genres.
